Research and publication activities are also essential part of the Department work. The evidence of all above mentioned is particulary scientific success of Prof. A. Ferko, MD, Ph.D, who was awarded the prize in medical research by the Ministry of Health in 1998 and his monography (Endovascular Treatment of Arterial Aneurysms) was awarded the Maydl´s prize for the best publication in surgery in 1999.
