Department of Emergency Medicine and Military General Medicine

About the Department

The department is a main teaching workplace which provides accredited military and specialized training of students in the Master’s degree program in Military General Medicine, Military Pharmacy and in the Bachelor’s degree program of Paramedic. It provides lifelong education of military doctors, pharmacists and other Czech Armed Forces medical personnel in refresher courses, specialized training and seminars. The department consists of the Group of Emergency Medicine and the Group of Military General Medicine. The main pedagogical task of the Group of Emergency Medicine is providing accredited military and specialized education in each year of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, in Disaster Medicine,  pre-hospital and urgent care in field conditions for doctors and non-medical health care personnel in the BATLS/BARTS courses. Combat Lifesaver Courses for Czech Armed Forces non-medical personnel are provided by the department which is the main centre for the courses. Further, first aid for particular bodies not only inside but also outside the Ministry of Defence is taught at the department. The Group of Military General Medicine personnel is the main educational and methodical part for organizing specialized education in the branch of general medicine, they teach the subject of Military Health Service Organization in Peacetime and take part in teaching activities within the framework of military and specialized education in each year of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs.
