Other projects and foundations

FMHS actively participates in contests and challenges announced funding agencies. In 2014, FMHS solves 13 grants awarded funding agencies outside the Ministry of Defence, 1 public contract and 1 project of foreign provider:

  • 1 public contract of Ministry of the Interior,
  • 5 projects of Internal Grant Agency of the Ministry of Health,
  • 2 projects of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports,
  • 6 projects of the Czech Science Foundation (GACR),
  • 1 project of the foreign provider.

In the fields of scientific work, the Faculty Departments are focused on the priorities of the construction and development of the ACR, specifically on addressing issues of the development of military health care, protection against nuclear weapons, chemical weapons and protection against biological agents. Another focus includes the development of military health care in the area of management and control and in the field of both prevention and basic clinical disciplines. The Department of Clinical Evaluation of Vaccines, which includes a microbiological laboratory, also plays a significant role.

In the field of protection against chemical weapons, the Faculty focuses on:

  • development of antidotes and modern methods of their application
  • analysis of the effects of chemical agents on living systems
  • improvement of the detection of toxic substances in water and food.

The field of protection against biological agents aims at:

  • development of means of detection and identification of microorganisms from the list of potential biological warfare agents, based on the identification of unique bio-molecular characters of microorganisms
  • he search for new specific protection (prophylaxis) through the development of new vaccines.

The field of protection against nuclear weapons is primarily focused on the detection of received radiation doses by biodosimetry.

Overview of the actually solved research projects of funding agencies outside the Ministry of Defence is in the following tables. Overview of the completed projects solved in the years 2005 – 2013 can be found here.
